### **Intro**

With his big shield and giant gun-lance, the Gunlancer comes in with heavy attacks and a slow turtle like playstyle. However this turtle packs a punch especially with :engraving[Preemptive Strike]!! While buffing your defenses and putting up shields you violently scream at your enemies and strike them with lightning. Bombard them till you're dizzy and care not for mechanics with your ability to negate tons of damage.

While the Gunlancer might be easy to pick up its not the easiest class to get good at. Your boss-mechanic ignoring abilities are to compensate for your lack of mobility, and with this you can :skill[Shout of Hatred] at mobs/elites/bosses interrupting most of their abilities and adding debuffs for you and your team to do more damage.


### **Skill Points Progression**

- At 256 skill points upgrade :skill[Counter Gunlance] to 4 and add :tripod[Counter Gunlance, Sturdy Armor].
- At 284 skill points upgrade :skill[Leap Attack] to 10 and add :tripod[Leap Attack, Low Shock].
- At 300 skill points upgrade :skill[Counter Gunlance] to 7 and add :tripod[Counter Gunlance, Weak Point Detection].
- At 328 skill points upgrade :skill[Counter Gunlance] to 10 and add :tripod[Counter Gunlance, Bombardment Spear].

### **Skill Breakdown**

- :skill[Bash] to stun Elites and buff yourself.
- :skill[Sharp Gunlance] for pulling and applying bleed AoE.
- :skill[Shout of Hatred] is a very fast AoE mob clear and debuff tool giving you a decent amount of shield gauge.
- :skill[Hook Chain] for grouping mobs infront of you and applying a damage buff.
- :skill[Leap Attack] for mobility and a bit of damage, its great to engage with and do your basic combo or shield up and do other combos.
- :skill[Guardian's Thunderbolt] press this to delete most mobs off your screen. This is the second strongest AoE you have available.
- :skill[Surge Cannon] is your strongest hardest hitting charge up AoE, it gives back cooldown on amount of mobs hit up to 15 seconds of it whilst shredding enemies and Elites a like.
- :skill[Counter Gunlance] a defensive counter ability to apply heavy damage once upgraded whilst negating incoming damage.
- :skill[Guardian's Protection] is the Awakening skill of choice for its defensive utility and reasonable damage output to make fighting Elites/Bosses easier and faster. Whilst giving you a instant shield regen to 100% it buffs the entire party with Push Immunity and 40% damage negation for its full duration of 10 seconds.


### **Gameplay**

- Engage into groups with :skill[Leap Attack] and then use your basic combo. 
- The basic combo for mobbing is to pull them with :skill[Sharp Gunlance] into :skill[Shout of Hatred]/:skill[Guardian's Thunderbolt]. Alternatively you can use :skill[Hook Chain] to buff yourself up with :skill[Shout of Hatred]/:skill[Guardian's Thunderbolt] for bigger packs.
- Use :skill[Bash] for self-buff and stun for Elites, this makes it easier to follow up with your hardest hitting skill :skill[Surge Cannon].
- Whenever you have :idskill[Defensive Stance] full and available use :skill[Surge Cannon] for a stronger AoE clear that shreds Elites as well.
- :skill[Counter Gunlance] is used to negate damage whilst performing a strong counter attack if hit during the counter window, this is especially powerful to ignore Boss mechanics and negate the damage of bigger packs of mobs combined with Elites.
- :idskill[Battlefield Shield] can be used for its utility though generally is not advised to use over :skill[Defensive Stance].
- Use your :skill[Guardian's Protection] Awakening for the first group of Elites and Bosses to help kill them easier as you will get the cooldown back from killing them. If you are more concerned about damage output you can use :skill[Lance of Judgment] instead though be aware that it has no defensive abilities.


### **Stats**

Use the stats that are relevant to your Class Engraving(s) and Tier relevant gear.

### **Runes**

The runes selected enhance the natural ability of the skills and help soak a bit more damage, use the highest available for the ones selected in the skill planner, this does not have to be perfect but the better they are the easier it makes things.

### **Summary**

- Make sure to use your :idskill[Defensive Stance] to easily cast your :skill[Surge Cannon].
- Always try to buff yourself up with :skill[Bash] or :skill[Hook Chain] at the start of your combos to enhance your damage output.
- Frequently use your :skill[Guardian's Protection] to wipe out the first group of Elites and to ease up the Boss fights as they will return your cooldowns after defeating them.
- Set up :skill[Counter Gunlance] to negate a lot of damage whilst dealing a lot back to the countered foes.
- Stun elites with your :skill[Bash] also lowering targets defenses by -12.0%.

### **Intro**

The "What are Mechanics!?" blue Gunlancer Raid build, for all your mechanic ignoring pleasure and constant damage up-time. Do you want to be tough as nails and still do respectable damage? Just :skill[Shield Charge] into the enemy relentlessly and slap them silly until they fall to the floor as the Blue Gunlancer. You will spend most of your time bashing, pushing, jumping, charging and slapping the boss with your shield whilst being shielded taking little to no damage once you master its play style and get to higher gear levels.

### **Skill Points Progression**

- At 256 Skill Points upgrade :skill[Shield Shock] to level 4 adding :tripod[Shield Shock, Armor Destruction].
- At 284 Skill Points upgrade :skill[Shield Charge] to level 10 adding :tripod[Shield Charge, Destruction Charger].
- At 300 Skill Points upgrade :skill[Shield Shock] to level 7 adding :tripod[Shield Shock, Ready Defense].

**Alternatives**

Replace :skill[Shield Shock] with :skill[Dash Upper Fire] for a more reliable counter skill specifically important for the Valtan legion raid and other easily counter-able raid bosses. The same would go for Weak Point damage.
If you want a more defensive option replace :skill[Shield Shock] with :skill[Counter Gunlance] or for your team :skill[Nellasia's Energy].

- :skill[Dash Upper Fire] with :tripod[Dash Upper Fire, Ready Attack] :tripod[Dash Upper Fire, Weak Point Detection] :tripod[Dash Upper Fire, Extra Shell]. For the rune use :rune[Overwhelm, 4].
- :skill[Counter Gunlance] with :tripod[Counter Gunlance, Sturdy Armor] :tripod[Counter Gunlance, Quick Prep] OR :tripod[Counter Gunlance, Weak Point Detection] :tripod[Counter Gunlance, Bombardment Spear]. For the rune use :rune[Focus, 4].
- :skill[Nellasia's Energy] with :tripod[Nellasia's Energy, Quick Prep] and depending on the boss use :tripod[Nellasia's Energy, Effectiveness] for bigger shields, :tripod[Nellasia's Energy, Shout of Purification] for party cleanse or :tripod[Nellasia's Energy, Lingering Power] for more defense boost with :tripod[Nellasia's Energy, Survive] as the final tripod. For the rune use :rune[Focus, 4].

### **Skill Breakdown**

- :skill[Shout of Hatred] is the Taunt skill forcing the boss to look at you during regular attacks also generating the majority of your shield gauge to use :idskill[Defensive Stance].
- :skill[Shield Bash] is a strong Stagger and movement ability to position yourself better before using your main combo's.
- :skill[Bash] is your combo starter with a great self-buff and great Stagger. It has very short range.
- :skill[Leap Attack] one of your main damage abilities, also used as a repositioning tool during your damage combo.
- :skill[Guardian's Thunderbolt] is your main damage ability with a better chance to get the "lucky" hit to land if you are closer/inside the Boss's hitbox.
- :skill[Surge Cannon] is a charge main damage ability with great damage potential that also helps break the Boss with Weak Point.
- :skill[Shield Charge] is used for repositioning/chasing the boss and does decent damage.
- :skill[Shield Shock] is a self-buff/de-buff ability with a long combo window to easily re-apply the self-buff and de-buff and decent stagger.
- :skill[Guardian's Protection] is the defensive Awakening option that gives 40% damage reduction for all party members standing within it and Super Armor for 10 seconds. It refills 100% of your shield gauge upon use (even if you have :idskill[Defensive Stance] active) and does average damage.
- :skill[Lance of Judgment] is the offensive Awakening option that gives 10% Crit chance for all party members standing within it for 10 seconds and does good damage.

**Alternatives**

- :skill[Dash Upper Fire] is the main Counter ability with added Weak Point if needed.
- :skill[Counter Gunlance] a more defensive ignore mechanic ability to Parry incoming damage.
- :skill[Nellasia's Energy] a party skill for more team support if wanted/needed.

### **Gameplay**

With :engraving[Combat Readiness] you do not have to dodge a lot of mechanics; instead, you simply take the hit from most normal attacks. However wipe mechanics and %HP skills will still hurt you, you have to manage your :idskill[Defenstive Stance] shield gauge properly. Re-positioning with :skill[Shield Charge] is very important to avoid taking massive damage or failing wipe mechanics.

- Turn off :idskill[Defensive Stance] before each use of :skill[Shout of Hatred], as it generates no Shield Meter gauge while :idskill[Defensive Stance] is active.
- Using :skill[Nellasia's Energy] if you have no support helps manage your :idskill[Defensive Stance] as it will take priority over it when taking damage.
- For hard hitting Boss mechanics you can avoid damage with :skill[Counter Gunlance] if you choose to run this.
- Use your *spacebar* to avoid getting knocked down when your :idskill[Defensive Stance] is not active.

**For your main damage rotation(s). **

Use :skill[Shout of Hatred at a slight distance to not get easily interrupted and then follow up with :skill[Shield Bash] if needed to position yourself for your combo to hit :skill[Bash].

Whenever :skill[Shout of Hatred] is available de-activate :idskill[Defensive Stance] for the Shield Meter then re-activate :idskill[Defensive Stance] and continue with:

1. :skill[Bash]
2. :skill[Guardian's Thunderbolt]
3. :skill[Surge Cannon] if the boss doesn't move/:skill[Leap Attack] if the boss moves.
4. :skill[Shield Bash] if available.

OR

1. :skill[Bash]
2. :skill[Shield Charge]
3. :skill[Surge Cannon] if the boss doesn't move/:skill[Leap Attack] if the boss moves.

- During skill rotations as fillers make sure to upkeep :tripod[Bash, Armor Destruction] for your party and :rune[Bleed, 4] as much as possible.

For perilous situations or to help your entire party ignore mechanics during something like Argos you can use :idskill[Battlefield Shield] to shield your entire party temporarily at the cost of your entire Shield Meter. This is however not recommended in most situations and is a last resort or for planned ignoring of specific damaging mechanics such as the "Mini-Pizza" on Argos.

### **Stats**

The :engraving[Combat Readiness] Gunlancer focuses primarily on Specialization and Crit as the secondary stat for the necklace, as the build runs primarily Normal Skills (Blue Skills), which gain bonus damage from Specialization. It also helps gain more Shield Meter from your :skill[Shout of Hatred] for better :idskill[Defensive Stance] management.

### **Engravings**

There are a few setups that work well for the Gunlancer. Below are the recommended Engravings for this build.

**Starter Engravings**

- :engraving[Combat Readiness] is great to have at level 1 as it offers the most benefit at level 1.
- :engraving[Barricade] provides a great 16% damage boost while shielded which for the :engraving[Combat Readiness] build means most of the time as your shield will be up for most of your damage rotations.

**Endgame Engravings**

- :engraving[Stabilized Status] is a good engraving for the :engraving[Combat Readiness] Gunlancer, as at higher levels you will barely take damage outside of your :idskill[Defensive Stance].
- :engraving[Spirit Absorption] helps with the lack of overall mobility and attack speed complimenting the build nicely.
- :engraving[Hit Master] can be a alternative to :engraving[Grudge] or :engraving[Cursed Doll] as your main damaging abilities do not require Head or Back Attacks.
- :engraving[Adrenaline] is a easy source of Crit Rate with a decent gem set up.

**Advanced Engravings**

- :engraving[Cursed Doll]* a 16% damage increase at the cost of 25% incoming healing effects from potions and players.
- :engraving[Grudge]* a 20% damage increase to bosses while receiving 20% more damage as well, as the Gunlancer you are EXTREMELY tanky so the drawback of this is not noticed as heavily as other classes.

(*)These Engravings should only be used at Engraving level 3.

**Optimal Setups**

Prioritize Top to bottom Engravings first. Note that both these setups are optimal just a change in preference.

### **Gear Sets**

The only noteworthy gear set currently is the Preordained Diligence Set from Argos, as the Gunlancer has very low Crit so it helps him boost his damage the most.

### **Runes**

- :skill[Shield Bash] with :rune[Protection, 3] helps negate damage as you activate your :idskill[Combat Readiness] to do your combos.
- :skill[Shout of Hatred] uses :rune[Focus, 3] as the :rune[Wealth, 4] does not affect the gauge generation from it, only Specialization does.
- :skill[Bash] with :rune[Bleed, 4] does the highest bleed damage. Alternatively you can use :rune[Rage, 4] on :skill[Bash] for potentially faster Skill rotations.
- :skill[Leap Attack] and :skill[Guardian's Thunderbolt] with :rune[Quick Recharge, 3] help lower the cooldown of :skill[Shout of Hatred] for easier Shield Meter management.
- :skill[Shield Charge] and :skill[Shield Shock] use :rune[Bleed, 3] runes as "filler" abilities for more damage up-time. Alternatively :rune[Galewind, 3] can be used for :skill[Shield Charge].
- :skill[Dash Upper Fire] with :rune[Overwhelm, 4] for better stagger. Alternatively you can use :rune[Protection, 3].
- :skill[Surge Cannon] with :rune[Galewind, 3] for faster skill use.
- :skill[Nellasia's Energy] uses :rune[Focus, 4] to lower the mana cost so it doesn't disrupt your mana flow.

### **Gems**

Gems grant bonus damage and cooldown reduction to specific skills. You can only equip 11 of these Gems at a time so it is recommended that you prioritize the Gems for your most important skills.

Once you enter Tier 3 there will be gear that starts dropping to enhance your abilities through the tripods. Tripods levels go up to a maximum of 5 (+4 on gear) and each level can enhance the effect of the tripod for example, damage, cooldown, buff intensity and mana cost.

Recommended tripods to focus on for the Gunlancer are the following:

### **Card Sets**

Cards are an endgame system to maximize your characters potential. Below are some of the recommended sets/setups for this class.
You have a total of 6 card slots available and can create several combinations until you start working on Awakening piece sets and reach their minimum requirements.

- Beginner Card Sets
- :cardset[Field Boss II] 4 Set. This will give you +8.00% Max Health.
- :cardset[Romanticist] 2 Set. Lowers your Movement Skill Cooldown by -10%.

Or

- :cardset[Forest of Giants] 3 Set. This increases the Effectiveness of your recovery items by +15%. (Best Value non-awakening card set).
- :cardset[We'll Meet Again] 3 Set. This will give you -12% Damage taken while below 50% max Health. And at 9-Awakening an additional -18% Damage taken while below 50%.

You can also combine the Forest of Giants 3 Set with a Field Boss 2 Set for the +4.00% Max Health boost instead or Romanticist 2 Set for Cooldown reduction on your dodge.

These sets are obtainable early on in the game and give you a slightly better time playing as you learn and get better and until something better becomes available as the ones mentioned below.

- Budget Card Set
- :cardset[Lostwind Cliff] 6 set (12-piece Awakening) This will give you Crit rate +7.00%.

The Lostwind Cliff card set gives you a nice Crit bonus at a more acceptable rate of awakening, leveling this up beyond 12-piece Awakening doesn't have enough investment value. It might take you a while to get it however the Seria and Solas cards are to a degree farm-able instead of being purely luck dependent. (Note: Requires full 6 piece set to be equipped).

- Optimal Damage Card Set
-:cardset[Light of Salvation] 6 Set(12-piece Awakening) Converts your damage type to Holy.
-Light of Salvation 6 Set(18-piece Awakening) Holy Damage +7.00%
-Light of Salvation 6 Set(30-piece Awakening) Holy Damage +8.00%

This card set will increase your raw damage output by a total of 15.00%, a added bonus to that is the +30.00% Dark Damage Reduction it gives.
The Light of Salvation card set is the best damaging card set for all DPS characters in the game but will take very long to complete to a 30-piece Awakening stage. This is a super-long-term goal. (Note: Requires full 6 piece set to be equipped).

### **Summary**

- The :engraving[Combat Readiness] Gunlancer has the highest survivability in Lost Ark.
- Turn off your :idskill[Defensive Stance] before using :skill[Shout of Hatred].
- Specialization is what the :engraving[Combat Readiness] build revolves around completely.
- Start damage rotations with :skill[Bash].
- Use :skill[Shield Charge] to reposition yourself during wipe mechanics if necessary.
- Use your Awakening :skill[Guardian's Protection] to apply Super Armor and 40% damage reduction to ignore certain mechanics for you and your team.

Skill runes: Some of the skill runes can be switched to something else based on the content you are running but most of it is standard, also since the website is not listing some of legendary runes since they are not in the game yet I will update the build once they are listed in future.

-PS. My build aim is for a minimum of 6/6 ability stones so the more you can score on the stone the cheaper you can buy accessories to manage 5 max engravings and since 9/6 or 9/7 stone is whale territory to get 5 engraving max and 6th at level 1 I'm going to discard that in my build.

-PPS. The skill points in this build are 408 which is considered to be the end game. therefore, you need to allocate SP towards this build when you are gaining more over time of your leveling and progression.

Master Browler Engraving is gonna be changed later on with Grudge for a best overall Dps, cause u can't hit everytime the head of the boss 'cause of his moveset.

To reach 2 x lvl3 Engraving i got to Epic Both Barricage and Master browler with a Stone with +6 to both engraving
on the jewels i got all +2 combat readiness.

[TR] Blue Gunlancer | Chaos Dungeon, AOE build

• Bu build class özelliği olarak **Z** tuşunuzda yer alan [**Defensive Stance**] 'i aktif olarak kullanır. Defensive Stance'iniz aktifken hem çok daha dayanıklı olursunuz hem de hasarınız artar. Bu buildde ağırlıklı olarak **mavi renkteki skillerinizi kullandığınız için** oyuncular genelde **Blue Gunlancer** olarak adlandırmaktadır.

• Bu build için :engraving[Combat Readiness] **olmazsa olmazınızdır**. Ancak üst seviyeleri çok büyük fark yaratmadığı için genelde Level 1 'de tutup daha sonra diğer engraving'lerinize yoğunlaşmanız daha mantıklı olacaktır.

• Stat olarak kalkan miktarınızı ve hasarınızı arttırdığı için öncelikli olarak **Specialization**'ı arttırabildiğiniz kadar arttırmayı gözetin. İkincil stat olarak **Crit** de tercih edebilirsiniz.

• Defensive Stance barınızı doldurmak için :skill[Shout of Hatred] yeteneğini kullanabilirsiniz. Bu yetenek düzgün tripodlar tercih ettiğiniz taktirde neredeyse tek seferde Defensive Stance barınızı %50 dolduracaktır. [TR] Blue Gunlancer | Guardian Raid, Abyssal Dungeon vb

This is a build based around the more group utility oriented Gunlancer build. 

You'll notice it's only 216 points. That is on purpose. I've only put 6 of the 8 available skills in this, as well as only bringing the skills I listed to the minimum I feel they should be at on the Tripod.

This is built with the assumption that you're going Combat Readiness over Lone Knight and want to focus on the Blue Build.

The other 2 skills are entirely up to you. Personally I like:
 Sharp Gunlance as it is a good short cooldown skill with some moderate stagger. If you're being swarmed it opens up long enough to turn on your shield.
 Shield Bash as it has that small dash forward which is great for positioning mid combat.

Another good option for your final 2 skills is Shield Shock, as it's 2nd tier tripod has Ready Defense which is on command 20%+ damage reduction.

For engravings you will want to look for any of these: Barricade, Grudge, Cursed Doll, and Stable State. Barricade is by far top priority because with this build you should have very little downtime on your shields. My second priority is going to be Grudge, as again, your shield uptime should make a healing cut almost a moot point.

For Awakening Skills use whichever you want. Judgement Spear is better for burst DPS. Guardian Shield is better for sustained DPS. This build does best sustained dps, as your shield allows you to reposition less and have more uptime in combat. Guardian Shield just leans into that.

Tips:
- Reccommended engraving are :engraving[Combat Readiness], :engraving[Barricade], and :engraving[Grudge]. If you're far ahead in the game you can add :engraving[Cursed Doll], :engraving[Stabilized Status], :engraving[Awakening] (combine with :skill[Guardian's Protection] for damage reduction on certain fights) or :engraving[Spirit Absorption] if you need the added movility.
- Try to save **:skill[Dash Upper Fire]** for counter-attack or use it wisely when there's a non-counter window.
- Remember having your using your shield when bursting or doing opener, specially if you're using **:engraving[Barricade]** engraving.
- When in comms try to coordinate ***Armor Destruction*** (**:skill[Bash]**) or ***Open Weakness*** (**:skill[Shout of Hatred]**) debuffs, and :skill[Lance of Judgment] crit buff in order to optimize party's DPS.
- Use **:skill[Counter Gunlance]** instead of **:skill[Surge Cannon]** in fights with no stagger checks. It's a safer ability which makes up for Gunlancer's weak movility.

*Reminder: this is not an absolute build. There's many things to consider in boss fights, therefore, skill trees could change.
