Intro

In 1v1's Sharpshooter is probably one of the best ranged classes due to its sheer amount of utility and follow up damage it can do. You don't rely on your team, you don't need to peel for anyone, its just you and your opponent. Utilizing Stealth to its fullest potential combined with hard stuns and slows you have at your disposal, Sharpshooter is one of the most annoying classes to play against in 1v1's. It has its weaknesses against certain classes, but it just requires a bit of slower or a faster pace depending on the opposing class.

Skill breakdown

  • Salvo is your Stealth skill, that you should be using only when you are about to go in for damage. Its not good for escaping as you can get pulled out of stealth fairly easy if opponent sees you going in stealth
  • Atomic Arrow has a low cooldown and is used to apply movement reduction for 3 seconds and a knockdown on the final explosion. You should use it only after a successful combo as the last skill, or if you are confident try hitting your opponent while he is moving.
  • Charged Shot is your damaging skill that is used for knocking down your opponent. With Charged Shot, Fast Fire tripod it has instant release and be used in close melee range both offensively and defensively.
  • Snipe is your main damage deal skill that has long range and it is RNG depending if your crit or not. Use it only when you have 100% guaranteed hit and you cannot get interrupted otherwise it is a big waste. In 1v1's you need to be extra careful and know when you can use it.
  • Moving Slash is your main repositioning and engaging skill. You will want to combo it with Salvo to get close to the opponent. Hitting someone will stagger them for a short duration which gives you enough time for the rest of the combo. It has low cooldown so don't be afraid to use it on cooldown to dodge and runaway from opponent.
  • Claymore Mine is your main engaging skill that stuns opponents in a cone shaped area. Use it aggressively to engage or passively to defend yourself.
  • Blade Storm is a skill that you will only use in a one specific combo, but it can also be used as a filler skill if opponent is stunned or knocked down to apply poison debuff.
  • Shadow Arrow is your main skill that is spammable at has low cooldown. With Shadow Arrow, Shadow Tracking tripod you just need to aim in general direction of opponent and it will hit him, apply slow, reduce their vision and after 3 consecutive hits stun for 3 seconds, allowing you combo afterwards.
  • Golden Eye is preferred awakening skill that lifts opponents up in the air and then knocks them down while giving you stealth.

Combat stats

There are two different combat stats setup that you can use depending on your playstyle

  • 750 Swiftness , 1 Critical and 249 Domination for more damage
  • 750 Swiftness, 250 Critical for max Snipe damage and higher crit chance

Combos

Same as in 3v3's you have two combos, where first one is the same while second combo is slightly different.

Combo #1

  1. Start with Salvo to get in stealth outside opponents vision
  2. Moving Slash into an player, hitting the skill will apply stagger for short duration off of which you combo rest of the skills
  3. Blade Storm to apply additional stagger and poison debuff
  4. Charged Shot for an instant knock down and damage
  5. Atomic Arrow to apply 50% movement reduction and another knock down if the opponent uses his spacebar to get up
  6. If opponent does use space bar to get up wait for second knock down and use Snipe for additional damage, and if he doesn't use space bar to get up, then simply walk away and wait for cooldowns

Combo #2

  1. Spam Shadow Arrow until you are able to stun for 3 seconds
  2. Apply Atomic Arrow and instantly start charging Snipe for double knock down
  3. Follow up with Moving Slash to close the distance
  4. Blade Storm + Charged Shot combo to finish off with damage and 3rd knock down

Gameplay

There is one very simple playstyle in 1v1's that make Sharpshooter very strong and annoying to deal with. You fully utilize the range and utility you have to not let anyone get close to you.

  • Use Salvo stealth engage against slow and ranged opponents by breaking their vision range first. Most ranged classes have close range AOE's that will pull you out of stealth before you even being combo, so don't rely too much on it.
  • Claymore Mine will only want to be used defensively as it is your only defensive skill. If you are confident and comfortable in dodging attacks then you can use it offensively, but keep in mind once your opponent is able to close the gap, you won't have anything to get you out.
  • Shadow Arrow is the most annoying skill and you will want to keep being annoying and applying movement speed reduction, vision reduction and eventually after 3 hits, a 3 second stun. You will want to combo straight after applying stun
  • If you opponent is hugging the edge and is avoiding fighting you, its your time to go aggressive as he is most likely waiting for cooldowns, so use that to from range and engage once you have the opportunity.
  • Keep applying Atomic Arrow on cooldown while it adds 50% movement reduction and a knock down. It requires decent aim, or simply use it at the end of the combo.
  • It is preferred to use Golden Eye defensively once your opponent all-in's with everything, you just simply activate it and you have fully immunity and a 7 seconds stealth while dealing damage.
  • Rely on your combos. In 1v1's as Sharpshooter after you use your main combo you can keep dodging and running away until your cooldowns are back. Then simply rinse and repeat.

Summary

  • Sharpshooter is an amazing class in 1v1's offering range capabilities with great utility usage for defensive purposes.
  • Don't force engagements and always hug the edge of the arena while keeping the distance.
  • Take your time to setup combos
  • Abuse Shadow Arrow as it is one of the best skills for 1v1's overall.
